Moreover, in the emerging market of new TFT
LCD applications, Visiontek has introduced many state-of-the-art
products and received many
product design awards. Realizing the growing wide applications of TFT
LCD monitors
and rapid growth of in-car A/V entertainment systems, Visiontek focuses on developing small
and medium size
LCD products, such as
monitor systems
and modules for IA
and industrial use,
and dedicates itself to being an in-car integrated entertainment system provider.
In April 2000, the company was established by
electronics industry veterans,
and set to target at rapid-growing
LCD industry. In December, 2000,
construction of a class-10,000 clean room
and IC bumping production line were finished. Visiontek then began to supply
products and service for front-end process of
LCD modules. The main customers included leaders of PDA
and mobile phone companies in Taiwan.
In May, 2001, with technical support
and collaborations with the
Panasonic Technology Company, Matsushita (Taiwan) Co. Ltd., Visiontek introduced its first generation of in-car use TFT
LCD monitors, including 4", 6.8"
and 7" models. Visiontek officially entered the
mobile and personal
video entertainment business. Meanwhile,
PC monitors (15"
and 17") were introduced as well,
and 15"
PC monitors with built-in
TV tuners were introduced. In March, 2002, 17"
PC monitors with built-in
TV tuner were introduced. In June, 2002, the company cooperated with several major
mobile electronic companies developing
mobile video entertainment monitors in the North American
and European markets. Models included
overhead 7", 8", 9" (16:9) wide
screen and 10.4" (4:3) flip down
monitorheadrest 5.8", 6.5",
and 7" (16:9) wide screens.
In June, 2003, we started shipping leading-market headrest
monitor models to major ODM accounts. In March, 2004, the company started shipping leading-market flip-down monitors to major ODM accounts,
and in August, 2004, we expended production line to triple the original capacity
and built advanced in-line burn-in facilities.
