The material of UHMWPE was first developed when Hong Kong returned to China in 1997. Chinese military forces had a demand of such bullet proof jackets made by Chinese own company. Under such political background, such bullet proof material was developed. Four years ago, the factory passed NIJ test standard of US.Currently, there are only four countries which can produce such bullet proof jacket material, USA, Netherland, Japan, China. Compared with those overseas products, the price is almost half of theirs.

One very interesting thing is that we can now often see that both of the two forces against each other are wearing the bullet jackets from the same factory of ours.Give you a story. Last september, 11 of 12 UK soldiers were alive after a war against Iraqi anti-government forces though the anti-government forces are much more than UK' s. One of them were even shot 12 times but still alive. The dead one was shot to death just because the bullet passed his head-it has nothing to do with jackets. Chinese made bullet proof jacket became famous since then.

This product is now widely used in UN peace force, UK forces in Iraq and Kuwait, Iraq new government military forces, Saudi Arabia military forces. Sri Lanka government even wants to buy for all of their military policemen.

There are many types of bullet proof jackets now, from 2kg to 5kg, anti pistol or even submachine gun.The strongest one can be good proof against scatter-gun 7 metres away(which can pass a steel plate of 2cm in thick). Most of the models will be no problem to resist AK47(except helmet).
