" China is one of the largest producers of corn in the world its annual production makes up 18-20％ of the world total and the output in the 2005/2006 cropping year is foreseen to be 1.3 hundred million tons. The annual consumption of corn for feed has seen around 3％ growth in recent years and the annual consumption of corn for industrial use has seen over 10％ growth. Traditionally, corn consumption mainly concentrated in animal feed and food, so the additional value of corn industry was very low. With the scientific technique development, the processing extent of corn is continuously deepened, and the consuming area is widely expanded. Modernly, corn can be used as the basic material for food, medicine, automatic, chemistry and other industries. During the 80’s of last century, annual consuming amount of corn in China was only a few hundred thousand tons, but till 2005-2006, with 10％ annual increasing rate, this number will be 16,000,000 tons. Under strong support from government, the corn market of China draws on lots of attention of overseas enterprises. With the reform of energy structure and fast development of biotechnical, China corn industry now is facing an animatedly developing time. According to the statistics, during 2004-2006, more than 500 projects about corn deep processing were settled, and the production capacity reached to 30,000,000 tons."
