herbicides
" The Chinese herbicide market is expected to grow by over 10%, with sales of glyphosate, acetochlor and butachlor showing substantial growth. One of the factors is the increase in domestic production. In 2000, Chinese herbicide exports grew by 37%, accounting for 57% of output. According to the figures that the National Statistics Bureau, in September of 2004, the output of herbicide was 14,209 tons, increased by 29.17% compared with the same period of last year. In September of 2004, 10,080 tons of wholesale-packaging herbicides were exported, increasing by 22.46% compared with the same period of last year. Although planted acreage is projected to grow to keep up with population growth, consumption of herbicides decreased through 2006. Consumption of herbicides is expected to decrease because of the introduction of newer herbicides with more highly-active ingredients. "
