pressure gauges
A pressure gauge is a gauge which measures pressure, consisting of a hook-shaped tube called the Bourdon tube. The worldwide market for the pressure gauges under study exceeded $US 4 billion in 2005, and is forecast to reach approximately $US 5.4 billion in 2010. Shipments of multivariable units accounted for only 5.7% of the combined pressure transmitter and transducer market in 2005, but are expected more than double by 2010. HART is the dominant protocol for smart pressure transmitters, but standards such as foundation fieldbus and profibus continue to make inroads in the market. There is increasing application displacement of transducers, with transmitters having amplified outputs. And high growth of pressure gauges is forecasted for the Asia-Pacific market.
