handkerchiefs
Satin-striped handkerchiefs made of 250s pure cotton microfiber yarn have gained high popularity overseas. Silk-like luster and elegance characterize these handkerchiefs with embroidery of traditional white lily magnolia. Prices are high, but inquiries are brisk. According to the Handkerchief Committee of the Home Textile Industry Association in Shanghai, exports of high-grade handkerchiefs have turned upward since the start of this year and incoming orders from Southeast Asia alone gained 30%. In the Chinese domestic market, nevertheless, disposable products like paper napkins have virtually captured the handkerchief market. For example, in the case of Shanghai Hansen, China's largest handkerchief manufacturer, its annual exports are 700 million handkerchiefs. The domestic market accounts for only about 3-5%. Presently, every manufacturer has placed emphasis on the development of handkerchiefs made of bamboo fiber, handkerchief-derived items such as bandanas and neckerchiefs to coordinate with clothing as well as various functional products.
