Mainland China's Minerals, Metals & Materials production output is expected to reach 60 billion units by the end of 2007, up 42.86 percent from 35 billion in 2006. The local Minerals, Metals & Materials industry registered an 18.28 percent growth in export value in 2006 and is expected to increase steadily, by 21.74 percent in 2007 and 20 percent in 2008. Mainland China supplies about 33 percent of the world's Minerals, Metals & Materials demand such as bridges, camphor carbon tetrachloride, casein, chromium, ciprofloxacin, citric acid, copper chain and copper foil according to the China Electronic Components Association (CECA). The Minerals, Metals & Materials industry in the mainland is composed of about 600 key manufacturers and some 400 makers running small-scale and family-operated workshops producing bridges, camphor carbon tetrachloride, casein, chromium, ciprofloxacin, citric acid, copper chain and copper foil. Most of these makers have set up manufacturing bases in the provinces of Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Shanghai. Mainland China makers offer a wide range of Metals & Materials industry, but the most common types are bridges, camphor carbon tetrachloride, casein, chromium, ciprofloxacin, citric acid, copper chain and copper foil, as well as modular jacks, telephone plugs and terminal blocks.
