The educational game industry, which is in the highlight during recent years, shows a strong trend of development, from traditional offline PC game to online games nowadays. The experience of its success and the prosperity of relative trades it promotes, has brought the perspective and business opportunity to the vendors. The educational game market is at its beginning stage and will probably become the new growth point of game industry in the future. Online educational gaming market estimates show China has the highest growth potential in the Asia-Pacific region. The International Data Corporation, or IDC, says China is expected to become the largest online gaming market by 2007, with availability of broadband and wireless networks acting as the key to growth. The country’s online gaming market grew almost 46 percent in 2003, and in the next two years its Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games are expected to dominate its online gaming market. Market revenue of online gaming in Asia is set to surpass US$1 billion by next year, with most growth coming from China and South Korea.
