This tube is commonly used for coagulation tests, with a citric acid sodium concentration of 3.8% (0.129 mol/L) and a 1:9 ratio with the blood sample. Gentle inversion of the blood sample and anticoagulant is necessary post-collection to prevent clotting. For coagulation testing, plasma extraction through centrifugation is required for accurate results.
