In 6-66kV AC power networks, especially those using cable power supply, resistance grounding is becoming increasingly widespread. However, if the transformer windings are connected in a "Δ" configuration and the network neutral point needs to be grounded, a grounding transformer must be added. Then, a resistor is installed between the grounding transformer neutral point and the ground.
