Aluminum Fluoride, Fluxes for Smelting Non-Ferrous Metals

Aluminum fluoride is an inorganic substance, chemical formula AlF  colorless or white crystal. It is insoluble in water, acid and alkali. It is stable and can be hydrolyzed when heated. Mainly used for aluminum smelting. It can be prepared by the reaction of aluminum trichloride with hydrofluoric acid and ammonia.

It is mainly used for aluminum smelting to reduce the melting point and improve the conductivity of electrolyte. Used as an inhibitor of side fermentation in alcohol production. It is also used as a flux for ceramic glaze and enamel glaze and as a component of glaze powder. It can also be used as a flux for smelting non-ferrous metals.
