Amoxi For Oral Suspension
COMPOSITION:
Each reconstituted measure (5ml) contains amoxi trihydrate corresponding to 125 mg or 250 mg of amoxi.
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:
Bactericidal antibiotic from the beta-lactam family of the penicillin A group, amoxi is mainly active on cocci (streptococci, pneumococci, enterococci, gonococci and meningococci). The product sometimes acts on certain Gram-negative germs such as Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, Salmonella, Shigella and Haemophilus influenzae. Amoxi diffuses into most tissues and biological fluids (sinuses, CSF, saliva, urine, bile, etc.), passes through the placental barrier and into breast milk. The product has very good digestive absorption.
INDICATIONS:
Amoxi is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible microorganisms (not producing penicillinase).
- Respiratory infections such as: Acute pneumonia, acute and chronic bronchitis, epiglottitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, median otitis and sinusitis.
- Infections of the urinary tract and uncomplicated gonorrhea infections.
- Septicemia, enteric fevers.
- Meningitis (sensitivity tests should be performed).
- Infection of the skin and tissues such as Pyoderma, Erysipelas, Lymphangitis, Cellulitis.
- Gastrointestinal infections such as Typhoid, Salmonella (uncomplicated gastroenteritis).
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Allergies to antibiotics of the beta-lactam family (penicillins and cephalosporins); Infectious mononucleosis (increased risk of skin phenomena) and Herpes.
SIDE EFFECTS:
- Allergic manifestations (urticaria, eosinophilia, angioedema, respiratory discomfort or even anaphylactic shock)
- Digestive disorders; (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, candidiasis)
- Immuno-allergic manifestations (anemia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, etc.)
DIRECTIONS FOR USE AND DOSAGE:
Children under 30 months: 50 to 100 mg / kg / day in 3 divided doses 8 hours apart.
Children over 30 months: 25 to 50 mg / kg / day in 2 or 3 doses without exceeding the dose of 3g / day.
For more severe infections, the dosage can be increased up to 150mg / kg / day in 3 to 4 doses without exceeding the dose of 6g/day.
ADMNISTRATION METHOD:
Oral use: Powder for oral suspension, add non-carbonated water to the mark indicated then shake until a homogeneous liquid is obtained.
STORAGE AND CONSERVATION:
Store in a dry place at a temperature below 25 ºC.
