The asynchronous generator is an alternating current (AC) generator. The benefit of asynchronous generator is that it can directly send electricity to the grid (under 500kW), which saves money on the transformer and related auxiliary system. Additionally, it requires less complicated construction and saves civil work cost. It is often used by areas with reliable power grid.

An asynchronous or asynchronous generator is a type of electric generator that does not rely on synchronization with an external electrical grid to produce power. Also known as an induction generator, an asynchronous generator generates electricity by creating a rotating magnetic field within its stator windings. This field induces an electric current in the rotor windings, which in turn produces a magnetic field that rotates in the opposite direction to the stator field.
