The main screw and barrel of the split twin screw extruder adopt advanced "building block" design. The screw is composed of various screw blocks installed on the core shaft and inner lining of the cylinder, forming a sleeve that can be adjusted according to different screw blocks. The ideal structure of the screw components can be flexibly combined according to the process requirements of the material variety, achieving the transportation, refining, shearing, and discharging of materials. This effectively solves the contradiction between the universality and specificity of the screw that is difficult to consider and achieves the goal of one machine with multiple functions. Another advantage of the "building block" design is that worn screw and cylinder components can be partially replaced, avoiding the scrapping of the entire screw or cylinder, greatly reducing the maintenance costs.
 

1. Segments and Functions of the Screw:
   The screw is generally divided into five segments:  feeding segment, melting segment, mixing segment, venting segment, homogenizing segment.

1. Feeding segment:
This segment is responsible for conveying the material and preventing overflow.

2. Melting segment:
In this segment, the material is fully melted and homogenized through heat transfer and frictional shear.

3. Mixing segment:
The mixing segment further refines and homogenizes the size and distribution of the material components,
creating an ideal structure with dispersion and distribution mixing functionality.

4. Venting segment:
This segment is used to exhaust impurities such as water vapor and low molecular weight substances.

5. Homogenizing (metering) segment: The homogenizing segment is responsible for conveying and pressurizing the material, increasing
the density of the material at the extruder outlet to a certain extent, establishing a certain pressure, and achieving more thorough mixing to ultimately achieve a stable foundation.
