Product Description
 
Diethanolamine is also called dihydroxyethylamine and 2,2'-iminodiethanol. It is a white crystal or colorless liquid with strong hygroscopicity. It is easily soluble in water, methanol, ethanol, acetone and benzene. Its solubility in benzene (g/100g) is 4.2 at 25°C and in ether is 0.8. Its uses are: gas purifier, which can absorb acidic gases in the gas, such as carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, etc. The "Benfil" solution used in the synthetic ammonia industry is mainly composed of this product; it is also used as an emulsifier, lubricant, shampoo, thickener, etc.; an organic synthesis intermediate, used in the production of detergent raw materials, preservatives and daily chemical products (such as surfactants); and synthesized morpholine.
Diethanolamine is used as a raw material for buffers in the pharmaceutical industry, as a cross-linking agent in the production of high-resilience polyurethane foam, and mixed with triethanolamine as a detergent for aircraft engine pistons. It reacts with fatty acids to produce alkyl alcohol acyl. It is also used as a raw material for organic synthesis, a raw material for surfactants and an acid gas absorbent. It is used as a thickener and foam modifier in shampoos and light detergents, as an intermediate in the organic synthesis industry, and as a solvent in the pharmaceutical industry. It has a wide range of uses in the washing industry, cosmetics industry, agriculture, construction industry and metal industry.
