Insulator

Insulator is a special insulated control, can play an important role in overhead transmission lines. Early years insulators used for poles, slowly developed in the high-pressure end of the wire connecting the tower to hang a lot of disk-shaped insulator, which is to increase the creepage distance, usually made of glass or ceramic, called insulators. Insulators should not change because of various electrical and mechanical stress caused by environmental and electrical load conditions and failure occurs, otherwise it will not have a significant insulator effect, it will damage the entire life of the use and operation of the line.

Insulators are used to support and fixed bus with live conductors, and to live there is sufficient distance between conductors or between a conductor and the insulation and the earth. Electrical insulator should have sufficient dielectric strength and moisture resistance properties.
