What is Maltitol?
Maltitol is a sugar alcohol. It has 75-90% of the sweetness of sucrose and other similar properties, but because its calorific value is half that of sucrose, it is less likely to cause dental caries and has little effect on blood glucose and blood lipids. Often used as a sugar substitute. It is used in place of sucrose.
