Product Description
Portable Cu/CuSO 4 reference electrode for cathodic protection system
Product Description
Cu/CuSO 4 reference electrodes can be divided into long-term reference electrode and portable reference electrode according to the usage and the service life. Generally speaking, the portable reference electrode is organic glass tube or an ABS tube. The portable copper sulfate reference electrode is suitable for field use, which is mainly used to determine the natural potential and the cathodic protection potential of the underground metal pipeline, and measure the stray current in the soil and also can be used to ascertain the potential of the metal cable sheath and the steel bar in concrete. This electrode can be utilized as a reference electrode to control the electric potential in impressed current cathodic protection system in sticky soil. It can also be used in various types of soil and fresh water.
Range of Application:
Portable, used for field measurements of water and soil.
Main features:
The electrode has various advantages, for example small volume, convenient carrying property, stable electrode potential and long service life.
Usages
1. Open the end cap and pour the copper sulfate crystal electrode into the electrode tubes.
2. Add a certain amount of distilled water or pure water in order to make saturated solution of copper sulfate after the copper sulfate crystal being dissolved. The existence of crystals is the symbol of saturation. Then it is used to measure the electric potential after tightening.
3. When measure the electric potential, the electrode body is inserted into the dielectric (water or soil). As for soil, the end of the electrode body should contact with the soil. During measurement, the electrode body should be as close as possible to the pipe to reduce the affect of pipe-to-soil potential. When measure the electric potential, one end of the multimeter pen should be connected with the outgoing line
of reference electrode while the other end of it should be connected with test line or test terminal.
