Product Description

Kefeng is a leading distributor and manufacturer of high-density Tungsten Heavy Metal Alloys with the international standard of ASTM B777-15. Tungsten Heavy Alloys are processed by powder metallurgy. Its powder is between 90% and 97% depending on the density required, which is mixed with nominal amounts of Nickel, Copper or Iron then compressed. The final part, liquid sintering, results in four classes of high-density, machinable Tungsten Nickel Iron or Tungsten Nickel Copper Alloys with remarkable physical properties, and in two features of magnetic and non-magnetic compositions.

TUNGSTEN HEAVY ALLOYS QUICK VIEWS:

 - Alloyed with Ni & Fe, or Ni & Cu for Magnetic or Non-Magnetic Grades
 - Complex Parts or Components Can Be More Efficiently Produced
 - Environmentally Friendly
 - High Density Range of 16.85 to 18.85 g/cc
  - Superior Machinability comparing to Pure Tungsten

Product Description

High Density Machinable Tungsten Alloy custom sem-finished parts are typically supplied to meet the requirements of ASTM-B-777 Class 1, 2, 3, and 4, MIL-T-21014, AMS-T-21014, AMS 7725 Type 1 and Type 2.  Custom grades available upon request and per customer specifications.

Xi'an Kefeng can supply alloys ranging from 90% to 97% Tungsten and contain nickel, copper and or iron binders for applications where high density and machinability are required. We can supply magnetic as well as non-magnetic Tungsten Alloys.

High Density Machinable Tungsten Alloys typical applications include weights, ballast, balancing rotating systems for aerospace and race cars, boring bars, sinker bars, crank shafts, radiation shielding, medical imaging, high precision tools, darts, lead replacement, collimator, and oil and gas drilling applications.

Characteristics and features

The heavy tungsten alloy material possess the highest melting point of all metals and suitable for very high-temperature applications. It is also characterized by a uniquely low coefficient of thermal expansion and a very high level of dimensional stability.

All our tungsten alloy parts are made produced by a process called powdered metallurgy. This is a technique process where tungsten powder is mixed with nickel, copper (non-magnetic) or iron (magnetic) powder or some other binder elements. It is then compacted and liquid phase sintered. Finally comes in a very high density machinable material having a homogeneous structure with no grain direction. This provides a material with unique applications and physical properties. Parts made from this material are intended for uses such as weights or counter-balances in static or dynamic balancing, high-speed rotating inertia members, radiation shielding, hypervelocity impact, and vibration-damping applications. In selecting the appropriate alloy for a given application, it is important to note that as the tungsten content of the alloy is increased, stiffness, radiation attenuation, and density increase with an accompanying decrease in attainable ductility. These alloys may contain elements that make them magnetic.  When the customer intends to purchase it at an early stae for a non-magnetic alloy needing.  According to the ASTM specification, non-magnetic material is defined as material having a maximum magnetic permeability of 1.05.

Properties

   - Low thermal expansion
   - High Density
   - Radiation Absorption
   - High thermal and electrical conductivity
   - High arc resistance
   - Hardness and Wear Resistance

Application

As tungsten alloy cubes are small volume with high density, so it can be used in some fields needing the little but heavy parts, like the counter weights of golf club, pinewood derby car, aircraft, helicopter,
vehicle, boat and yacht, especially in precision instrument fields: mobile phone vibrator, clock cube, self-winding watches, anti-vibration toll holders, flywheel weights.
