Fipronil is a broad-spectrum insecticide that disrupts the insect central nervous system by blocking GABA-gated chloride channels and glutamate-gated chloride (GluCl) channels, resulting in central nervous system toxicity. |
Function of Fipronil
1.Fipronil is a highly active, broad-spectrum insecticide from the phenyl pyrazole family. It can be used against major lepidopterous and orthopterous pests on a wide range of field and horticultural crops and against coleopterous larvae in soil. It is also employed for cockroach and ant control.
Toxicity: Rat, LD50, oral Males: 18 mg/kg; Females: 15 mg/kg Rat, LD50, dermal > 2000 mg/kg.
