Aminophylline injection is used together with other medicines to treat the acute symptoms of asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, and other lung diseases in a hospital setting. Aminophylline belongs to a group of medicines known as bronchodilators.
Aminophylline injection is a terile solution of Aminophylline in Water for injection .It contains anhydrous theopphlline not less than 74.0% and not more than 84.0% of the labelled amount of Aminophylline and contains ethylenediamine not less than 13.0% and not more than 20.0% of the labelled amount of Aminophylline .
Aminophylline Injection B.P. 250mg/10ml is for slow intravenous administration. The solution may be injected very slowly, or it may be infused in a small volume of either 5% dextrose or 0.9% sodium chloride injection. Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients listed in section 6.1.
Common side effects of this medicine include blurred vision and fast heart rate. Dry mouth may also occur while using this medicine so, try to do frequent mouth rinses, maintain good oral hygiene and increase water intake.
Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking this medicine. It is better to avoid this medication if you are suffering from any severe heart disease or urinary retention.
This medication is given in a hospital or clinic. It will not be stored at home.
