APPLICATIONS :
Medium Density Fibreboard or MDF is a versatile wood panel product which differs from particleboard in that the wood chip is reduced to a fibre which in its raw form is similar to cotton wool. Resin is added in the manufacturing process to produce a panel that has a smooth surface on both sides and an even density profile through whisk makes an ideal substrate to router and groove. These characteristics also allow intricate and precise machining and finishing techniques when producing high quality cabinetry components. The product is also used extensively for handyman projects as it offers a high quality surface for sprayed and hand painted treatments.
Medium Density Fibreboard or MDF (Standard) is recommended for interior applications which may include: detailed joinery, lacquered furniture, furniture mouldings, built-in furniture, shelving, wall linings and partitions (if installed with a suitable feature joining systems), pattern making, toys, clocks and trophies.

Which of the Melamine MDF Surface finishes wears better?
The 5 plate finishes have the same wear factor as each other. However, with a textured surface, should there be marking or scratching, the texture will tend to disguise a mark more than a totally smooth finish.
Will the veneer I order look the same as the sample I have?
Every log has its own natural characteristics ; like a fingerprint, each log is unique. For this reason a sample is only indicative of our current stock at any time. You are welcome to send us your sample at the time of ordering and we will do our best to match a material as similar as possible from our current stock holdings
