Mooring Tails
Mooring tails provide elasticity in the mooring system. The elasticity could provide protection from surging and shock loading ,which would provide safer operationFeatures:
Standard Length:
The standard length is 11m effective working length with two protected eyes of 2m and 1m respectively.
Break strength:
As per OCIMF guidelines,tails made of polyester and polypropylene blended should have 25% higher MBS than that of mooring line and nylon mooring tails should have a 37% higher MBL, to take account of loss of strength when wet
Tails configuration:
Single-leg
Standard single leg tails have a 2 mtrs soft eye on one end and a 1mtr eye on the other end.
Grommet
Grommet tails have a 2mtrs and 1mtr soft eyes formed by lashings.MBL of grommet is 1.6x higher than that of single leg.
