| What is Mesalazine? Mesalazine is the active ingredient of SASP in the treatment of ulcerative colitis. It has a significant inhibitory effect on the inflammation of intestinal wall. Mesalazine can inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandins that cause inflammation and the formation of leukotriene, which is an inflammatory mediator, and thus has a significant inhibitory effect on intestinal mucosal inflammation. Mesalachine can inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandin in a dose-dependent manner and reduce the release of PGE2 in human colonic mucosa. |
