The use of pyrophyllite
1. Used as a refractory Pyrophyllite contains silicon dioxide and aluminum oxide. It does not melt when heated. It is a raw material for manufacturing aluminum silicate refractory materials. Its essential requirements limit iron oxide content. Generally, aluminum oxide (Al2O3) ≥ 24%, (Fe2O3) 1670ºC. 2. Used as ceramic raw material Pyrophyllite can be used for daily ceramics and architectural ceramics.
