Application:
1. Iridium is the only precious metal thermocouple that can measure temperature up to 2100 C in the atmosphere because of its high temperature oxidation resistance and thermoelectric properties. Iridium can be used as a container material for radioactive heat source. Iridium anodic oxide film is a promising electrochromic material. Ir192 is a gamma ray source, which can be used for nondestructive testing and radiochemical therapy. Iridium is also an important alloying element;
