AAC--All Aluminium Conductor
AAC conductor is also known as aluminium stranded conductor. It is manufactured from electrolytically refined aluminium, with a minimum purity of 99.7%. AAC is used mainly in urban areas where the spacing is short and the supports are close. All aluminium conductors are made up of one or more strands of aluminium wire depending on the end usage. AAC is also used extensively in coastal regions because it has a high degree of corrosion resistance.
1.ScopeThis specification covers aluminum 1350-H19 (extrahard), 1350-H16 or -H26 (3⁄4 hard), 1350-H14 or -H24 (1⁄2hard), and 1350-H142 or -H242 (1⁄2 hard), bare concentric-laystranded conductors constructed with a straight round central wire surrounded by one or more layers of helically layed wires.The conductors are for general use for electrical purposes.

ApplicationsClasses 1 AA and A are used primarily for overhead transmission and primary and secondary distribution, where ampacity must be maintained and a lighter conductor (compared to ACSR) is desired, and when conductor strength is not a critical factor. Classes B and C are used primarily as bus, apparatus connectors and jumpers, where additional flexibility is required.
