| IX TYPE RING JOINT GASKETS |
The metal ring joint gasket is made of metal material by forging and heat treatment and machining.Designed for use where NORSOK standard CFC (compactflange connection)is used.The standard number is NORSOK standard l-005 (ncf5).Type IX sealing ring is an elastic sealing type,which is caused by radialdeformation caused by wedge action of sealing groove.When bearing internal pressure and external pressure capacity is not limited,the pressure is selftightening.
Typical minimum yield stress and ulimate stress of the seal ring material shall at maximum design temperature be 300MPa and 360MPa,respectively,in orderto allow for reasonably elastic spring-back.Lower strength may be used,but is not recommended.The user is responsible for selecting a seal ring materialwhich is suitable for the service medium and the design temperature conditions.Seal ring materials are commonly chosen to be compatible with the flangematerial,I.e.Duplex seal ring in duplex flange.
