Turkesterone is the extract of Ajuga tenuifolia, which is also known as sanxue herb, paxue pill, herringbone gall grass, kudi gall, and pergola herb. It is a perennial herb of Ajuga tenuifolia of labiatae, native to Eurasia, and distributed in Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Shandong, Zhejiang, Henan, Sichuan and other places in China. It has antitussive, expectorant, and antiasthmatic effects.
