Cetostearyl Alcohol Ethoxylates are alkyl polyethylene glycol ethers derived from Cetostearyl Fatty Alcohols (C16-C18), which are mixed of molecules varying in the number of repeating ethoxy groups. The digit which is appeared after the name shows the average number of ethylene oxide units in the Cetostearyl Alcohol molecule. For example, O-25 means a Cetostearyl alcohol molecule which is reacted with average 25 molecules of ethylene oxide.
Cetostearyl Alcohol Ethoxylate (C16-18 Alcohol ethoxylate) is also known as Ceteareth, alpha-Ceto Stearyl l-omega-hydroxy-poly (oxy-1,2-ethanediyl), Ceto Stearyl Alcohol Ethoxylated, Polyoxyethylene Ceto Stearyl Alcohol, Polyethylene Glycol Ceto Stearyl Ether. Cetostearyl Alcohol Ethoxylate is white, waxy and solid/flake based on the ethoxylation. More than 10 mole ethoxylate is water soluble and also can dissolve in polar solvents. It is biodegradable surfactants with non-ionic property.

Applications:
Cetostearyl Alcohol Ethoxylates mainly fined application as emulsifier and co-emulsifier in personal care formulations. They make stable emulsions which do not break easily. They are used in microemulsion gels, aqueous/alcoholic preparations, creams and lotions permanent waxes, physical sunscreens, depilatories, lipsticks, antiperspirants and deodorants, bath oils and shaving preparations.
Cetostearyl Alcohol Ethoxylate is widely used in various industrial applications in textile, pharmaceutical, chemical and agriculture field. These surfactants are used as wetting agents, emulsifiers, room cleaning solutions, metalworking and leather processing factories.
