It is soluble in water and hot ethanol, slightly soluble in cold ethanol, and insoluble in ethyl ether and benzene. This compound is unstable when exposed to water or heat and is odorless and tasteless. As an anticancer medication, hydroxyurea is primarily used to treat chronic myelogenous leukemia.
