Sodium valproate is a broad-spectrum antiepileptic drug without nitrogen. This product has varying degrees of antagonism to convulsions caused by various methods. It is effective for various types of human epilepsy, such as various types of minor seizures, myoclonic epilepsy, localized seizures, major seizures and mixed epilepsy. Oral absorption is fast and complete, mainly distributed in the extracellular fluid, and most of it is combined with plasma proteins in the blood. It is mostly used in patients with various types of epilepsy where other anti-epileptic drugs are ineffective, especially small hair as the best.
Sodium valproate can be used to control acute episodes of mania and acute stress reaction. Side effects can include tiredness, tremors, nausea, vomiting and sedation. The intravenous formulations are used when oral administration is not possible.
