Formulation: Oral suspension

Indications: Artemether suspension is primarily used for the treatment of malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum and other susceptible species. It is commonly prescribed for the management of uncomplicated malaria in both adults and children, especially in cases of drug-resistant strains.

Dosage and Administration:

• Adults: The recommended dosage is 3.2 mg/kg of body weight per day, divided into 2 doses for 3 consecutive days.
• Children: The dosage should be determined by body weight. Typically, the dosage is 3.2 mg/kg body weight per day, taken in two equal doses.

The suspension should be taken orally, with or without food. It is important to complete the full course of treatment as prescribed by your doctor, even if symptoms improve before the course is finished.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity: Do not use if you are allergic to artemether or any other ingredients in the product.
• Severe liver or kidney disorders: Use with caution in patients with significant hepatic or renal impairment.

Warnings and Precautions:

• Use with caution in patients with a history of liver disease, as artemether is metabolized in the liver.
