DAM1 Series Circuit Breakers
The DAM1 series circuit breakers are designed for conducting current in normal mode and switching it off in case of short circuits, overload, inadmissible bucking, operational actuation, and tripping of electric circuit parts. They are suitable for use in electric units with an operative voltage limit of 400V and a rated current range from 12.5 to 1600A. These circuit breakers comply with EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2 standards.
Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:
Thermal protection function: The bimetal in the breaker provides thermal protection by bending towards the metal with less extension when heated, releasing a notch to disable the breaker. The bending speed of the bimetal is proportional to the current passing through the breaker, offering overcurrent protection at load currents higher than the rated current.
Magnetic protection function: The breaker also protects the connected circuit against short circuits by instantly opening to break the system energy in case of a short circuit. This function is carried out by a mechanical opening mechanism that operates with magnetization from the short circuit current's magnetic area.
