Function:
Bacitracin is a peptide antibiotic that inhibits the synthesis of bacterial mucin by non-specific blocking of phosphorylase reactions, resulting in antibacterial effects. Bacitracin has good antibacterial activity against most Gram positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus, Enterococcus, Clostridium and Corynebacterium. Sensitive bacteria rarely develop resistance to them.
