In industry, water vapor is often used as a heating heat source, and most of the evaporated materials are aqueous solutions, water is evaporated into steam, for distinction, generally from the evaporator evaporation of steam called secondary steam. The evaporation process, which is completed in an evaporator and discharged directly after the secondary steam is recondensed and is no longer used, is called single-effect evaporation. The evaporator using this single-effect evaporation method is called a single-effect evaporator.

Working principle:

The single-effect evaporator is composed of a heating chamber and a separation chamber, the heating chamber is equivalent to a heat exchange equipment, the heating medium is steam, and the separation chamber is equivalent to a gas-liquid separation equipment. The feed liquid enters from the middle of the heating chamber, and in the process of passing through the whole heating chamber, the feed liquid receives heat, the water vaporizes, and the concentrated feed liquid is discharged from the bottom of the heating chamber. The gas vaporized from the feed liquid is called secondary steam, the secondary steam enters the condenser, the secondary steam is directly condensed by the cooling water, the cooling water is discharged from the bottom, and the non-condensing gas such as air is discharged from the top.

Features of single effect evaporator:

Single-effect evaporator equipment is simple, relatively easy to operate and less equipment cost investment, but the production capacity of single-effect evaporator is small. From the perspective of the single-effect evaporator process, because the secondary steam generated by the single-effect evaporator is directly condensed and removed, the heat carried by it is not fully utilized, so the single-effect evaporator is generally suitable for small production capacity, corrosive materials that require expensive structural materials or steam is contaminated and can not be reused.
