Buckling restrained braces (BRB) are mainly composed of three components: core steel support members, steel shells, and non structural filling materials.
The core supporting components are connected to the structure and specifically bear the load of the structure. Non structural filling materials and steel shells can prevent the core support components from bending when subjected to compressive forces. This design ensures that the core supporting components can undergo stable plastic deformation under tension and compression, effectively dissipating seismic energy.
BRBs can be flexibly deployed and installed within walls to ensure that they do not alter the appearance of buildings.
