Application: Tin(IV) chloride is a mordant for dying fabrics; a stabilizer for perfume in soap; used in weighting silk; in ceramic coatings; in manufacturing blue print papers; and to produce fuchsin. Also, tin(IV) chloride is used in preparing many organotin compounds.
