ZEOLITE
Zeolites are hydrated aluminosilicates characterized by high surface areas and high cation exchange capacities. There are more than 40 types of natural zeolite minerals.
Clinoptilolite (from the Heulandite group) is the most common and suitable natural zeolite type for commercial and industrial applications.
More than 90% of the world's zeolite production is clinoptilolite.
Clinoptilolite Zeolite is a natural volcanic mineral, a micro porous inorganic mineral with an open, stable, three dimensional honeycomb structure negatively charged.
The structure loosely holds cations (negatively charged ions) which are available for exchange. The ability to exchange one cation for another is called "cation exchange capacity"
