Metaphthalic anhydride, scientific name 1,2,4-phenylenetricarboxylic anhydride, also known
as metaphthalic anhydride.
Trimellitic anhydride is used to manufacture polyester resin and polyimide resin, water-soluble
polyester resin, plasticizer and water-soluble amino alkyd resin, water-soluble polyurethane resin,
epoxy resin curing agent, advanced aviation lubricating oil, power capacitor impregnating oil,
sizing agent, smoke suppressant, granular binder, instant binder and TOTM, etc.
