White orthorhombic crystal. Nonvolatile, nonhygroscopic, odorless. High stability at normal temperature and can maintain original quality for several years. Freely soluble in water and liquid ammonia, strongly acidic in water solution.
Slightly soluble in methanol, insoluble in ethanol and ether. Characteristics of double functional group of amidogen and sulphonic radical, may go on chemical reaction with many matters.Melting point is 205oC, decomposing temperature is 209oC.
Application:
Mainly used as cleaning agent of descaling, clearing away oxidize surface, slightly corrosive to metal. It can be used in water treatment sterilization, bleach fiber, wood and paper; Acidification process, removing nitrite in tobacco, sludge treatment in oil mines; Manufacturing of Dyes, Pigments; Fire retardant; Curing agent in plastic industry; Chlorine Stabilization; Electroplating and Electro-refining; Raw material for pesticide intermediate, ramification of sulfamic acid etc..
