Isobutane is an organic compound with the chemical formula C4H10, which is a colorless flammable gas at room temperature and pressure. Mainly found in natural gas, refinery gas and cracked gas. It is used in the synthesis of isooctane, as a gasoline octane number improver, for the production of isobutene, propylene, methacrylic acid, and as a refrigerant.
