Properties:

Reddish purple deliquescent crystal. Soluble in water, acid and ethanol. Dark red monoclinic prismatic crystals. Microacetic acid odor. Soluble in water, ethanol, dilute acid and amyl acetate, etc. A 2mol solution has a pH of 6.8. The relative density is 1.705. Refractive index 1-542. There is a possibility of cancer. Not easy to burn. Toxic gases are released by high thermal decomposition.

Use:

As a catalyst for transesterification reaction, the amount in the production of polyester resin is about 0.o1% ~ 0.o5%. It is also used to produce desiccant for paints and coatings, printing and dyeing mordant, and FRP curing accelerator.
