Conductive Silicone Rubber is a carbon filled silicone material that acts as a low amp conductor, often used for the prevention and protection of static charge (electrostatic discharge) build-up.
The generic term often used to describe a rubber material with conductive properties is 'conductive rubber'. These materials and products are used for the purpose of eliminating electromagnetic interference and radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI noise) often found in electronics.
Electrically Conductive Silicone rubber gaskets can be made in the form of a strip or pad, but are generally an intricately cut shaped piece of material placed between two surfaces to create a low-pressure seal preventing the leakage of liquids or gas and to seal against the intrusion of dust and debris.
