FEATURES OF CHLORINE
Chlorine (Cl2) features a greenish yellow color and an acre and suffocating odour. Chlorine (Cl2) is above all a toxic gas and irritating to the eyes and the eye mucous membranes and respiratory mucous membranes.
Theoretically non-flammable and non-combustible, it's huge reactivity with substances like acetylene, ammonia, hydrogen and the combustible gases produces combustibles compounds. Chlorine (Cl2) is particularly used in the making of explosives.
Although chlorine (Cl2) is a perceptible (greenish yellow) and odorous (acre) gas, it is necessary to use a Cl2 gas detector to have an accurate measure of the chlorine (Cl2) concentrations.
Proper chlorine gas detection is essential in areas where workers are most likely to be exposed to toxic Cl2 gas, such as storage tank areas and near processing units.
