Principle
In accordance with ISO4490,ISO 3923,GB/T1482,GB/T1479,hall flowability tester has been widely applied to determine flowability and bulk density for metal powder or other powder.Any powder can pass through funnel with 2.5mm standard diameter aperture.it can be tested by using this machine.
The flowability of metal powder can be indicated as the time needs when 50g metal powder pass through standard funnel with specified aperture.
Testing Method
According to GB1482 or ISO4490, the flowability of metal powders is usually measured with a Hall flow meter. In the measurement process, a sample of 50g ± 0.1g is weighed and poured into a funnel with the hole blocked by a finger. When the finger is quickly moved away, the stopwatch (precision 0.2s) is started immediately until all the powders flow through the hole. The flowability is assessed by the time that takes 50g powders flow through the funnel hole. The standard funnel for the Hall flow meter needs to be calibrated with a standard sample and the standard sample flow rate is 40 ± 0.5s /50g.
