The role of hydraulic accumulators
The hydraulic accumulator is an indispensable element in hydraulic and fluid technology. It has many uses in hydraulic circuits such as:
1) saving of drive power; 2) energy reserve; 3) attenuation of pressure shocks; 4) reduction of pump pressure pulsations; 5) maintenance of constant pressure.
All of the above roles can be assumed by hydraulic accumulators, and thus can get special benefits, such as; increase in production capacity and total efficiency, improve its functioning, extend its life, improve safety, reduce the cost of work and maintenance.
Principle of operation
Oil is not compressible in practice, so it cannot store pressure energy.
Liquid-gas accumulator is to use the compressibility of gas to store oil.
Diaphragm accumulators are based on this principle and use nitrogen as the compressible medium. Diaphragm accumulator by the liquid part and the gas part of the composition, the diaphragm used as a gas sealing isolation parts. The liquid part is connected to the hydraulic circuit, so when the pressure rises, the gas is compressed and the oil is sucked into the diaphragm accumulator. When the pressure drops, the gas expands and the fluid is pressed into the system circuit. When the accumulator is completely emptied, the valve seat at the bottom of the diaphragm closes the hydraulic outlet to prevent damage to the diaphragm.
