According to traditional Chinese medicine, pangdahai is sweet in taste, cold in nature, and belongs to the lung and large intestine meridian. It has the effects of anti-inflammatory and bacteriostasis, diuresis and pain relief, moistening the intestines and defecating, and assisting in blood pressure reduction. It can be used alone or with other heat clearing and purgative drugs in clinic.
1. Anti inflammatory and bacteriostasis: pangdahai has a contractile effect on vascular smooth muscle, can improve mucosal inflammation, reduce spasmodic pain, and has a strong inhibitory effect on common respiratory pathogenic bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae. External application can treat red eye disease with mild initial condition;
2. Diuresis and pain relief: the outer skin, soft shell and kernel of pangdahai have certain diuretic and analgesic effects. In clinical practice, boiling water is often used to replace tea to treat sore throat, hoarseness and other diseases, and the effect of treating pharyngitis with honey will be better;
3. Moisten intestines and relieve constipation: fat sea can promote small intestine peristalsis, clear away fire, relieve heat, constipation and other symptoms after soaking or frying in boiling water;
4. Auxiliary hypotension: pangdahai can assist in hypotension, and also has a certain auxiliary therapeutic effect on urinary calculi and hypertension.
Pangdahai is prone to mildew due to poor storage. Taking it for a long time with tea may cause skin allergic reactions, such as skin itching, miliary papules, mouth and lip edema, dizziness, palpitation, decreased blood pressure, chest tightness and other symptoms. It is not recommended for normal people or people with weak spleen and stomach to take it for a long time.
