Electro-optical (EO) counter-drone systems are used to detect, track and identify drones (and their potential location) based on the visual signature of the platforms. Typical EO systems are equipped with sophisticated modular electro-optical components which support day and night observations for detection and classification of targets. EO solutions do not rely on RF signals to detect drones and therefore are always effective. EO systems provide visuals on the drone and can give more information about its payload.

2,Thermal

Thermal cameras detect drones based on their heat signatures. The more heat the drone radiates, the more thermal contrast it generates, and the easier it is to see. Electrically powered drones do not produce large amounts of heat compared to fuel powered aircrafts which can make it challenging to detect the drone. Like optical cameras, thermal cameras are also able to detect drones without RF signals or those which are controlled via cellular network. Another advantage thermal cameras have is that they are independent of daylight. These solutions can detect drones at night as well as during daytime.
