What is EECP /ECP therapy ?

EECP/ECP therapy is a unique non-invasive and adjunctive therapy for treating angina patients who have been refractory to medical therapy and may not be candidates for invasive procedures due to co-morbid disease, incomplete revascularizations or inappropriate anatomical reasons.  It is called a Natural Bypass™

How it works ?

EECP/ECP system consists of three set of inflation pressure cuffs wrapped around the calves and the lower and upper thighs ,including the buttocks , as the patient lies down on the table . During the treatment , patient applies 3 leads ECG electrode, the cuffs are sequentially inflated from calves to buttocks during diastole to push the blood from limbs up toward to heart , The cuffs are deflated simultaneously before onset of systole to reduce the workload and oxygen demand of the heart .

Mechanism of action

There is evidence demonstrating improved endothelial function via the hemodynamic effects by the increased shear stree acting on the arterial wall, reducing arterial stiffness and providing protective efects against inflammation, inhabiting intimal hyperplasia and the atherosclerotic process.

Application
1. Treatment : After more than 20 years of clinical practice, indications of EECP/ECP have developed from ischemic heart disease (IHD) to a wide range of ischemic diseases of brain, eyes, ears, limbs and other internal organs

2. Rehabilitation

. Recovery phase after heart operation

. Recovery phase of viral myocarditis.

. Recovery phase after craniocerebral trauma and its operation.

. Recovery phase of traumatic paralysis.

. Recovery phase after limb surgery.

. Recovery phase after hepatitis

. Senile hypomnesis, insomnia and somnolence

. Recovery after other ischemic diseases caused by poor blood supply

3. Healthcare

. Persons who are over 50 years old and have no ischemic disease

. Brain workers

. Persons who cannot engage in outdoor activities or are unwilling to exercise.

. Persons with premonitory symptoms of ischemic diseases (or sub-healthy persons).

Contraindications:

EECP/ECP therapy should not be used for the treatment of patients with :

. Arrhythmias that interfere with machine triggering

. Bleeding diathesis

. Active throbophlebities

. Severe lower extremity vaso-occlusive disease

. Presence of a documented aortic aneurysm requiring surgical repair

. Pregnancy
